Storm Ciara swept across the UK on Sunday 9th February, with heavy rain and gusts of up to 97mph causing widespread flooding and major disruption on the transport network. Here are some of my images taken along the Fylde Coast in Lancashire

They are most often observed during the summer months from latitudes between 50° and 70° north and south of the equator. They are visible only during local summer months and when the sun is below the observer’s horizon, but while the clouds are still in sunlight.
I was lucky enough to capture this stunning display over the Preston Marina in Lancashire. As it started to get darker i noticed the clouds and could tell quite early on they could possibly be noctilucent clouds so i waited a little while and i wasn’t disappointed! I used a Canon 5D Mkiii with a 24-70mm f2.8 lens & settings of f/7.1 | ISO 100 | 24mm | 5.00s
